Abstract

The motivation for this research is the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia, so the government decided to implement large-scale social restrictions to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus. This also has an impact on teaching and learning activities that require online learning. make the Madrasah Tsanawiyah Ash Shabirin Samarinda opposite which conducts online learning using the Google Classroom application so that learning activities are carried out online and also have an impact on student learning interest in using Google Classroom media in learning. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used there are three stages of data collection, data presentation, and drawing concluding. The research location is at the Ash Shabirin Samarinda MTs school opposite the informants, namely MTs students grades 1,2,3, the academic year 2020/2021, and teachers of Aqidah Morals subjects. The results of research from 14 students and 2 teachers of MTs Ash Shabirin Samarinda across regarding the implementation of the use of the Google Classroom application on student learning interest in the Aqodah morality lesson have greatly helped students and teachers in conducting online learning activities, the use of applications that are very easy, practical, and not consuming a lot of data in using it so that students and teachers easily use the Google Classroom application in learning amid during in the covid 19 pandemic. However, the use of Google Classroom media also hurts student learning interest, namely the absence of direct interaction between teachers and students in the learning process lack of interest in student learning in participating in learning, students feel bored and bored so that students find it difficult to understand the material presented.
